Dr. van Besien is the Director of the transplant program at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College.
Dr. van Besien has established an international reputation as a clinical researcher. He has devoted considerable efforts at developing novel treatment strategies for patients with recurrent lymphoma, including the introduction of novel drugs and treatment in salvage therapy and in transplant conditioning regimens. He also has developed novel methods of transplantation for those patients who lack matching donors. Most recently his group has described a novel concept of haplo-cord transplantation with extremely encouraging results.
Dr. van Besien has over 200 publications in peer reviewed journals and his research continues to be supported by NIH. He is a member of the editorial review boards of the journals Bone Marrow Transplantation and Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation. He is also Editor in Chief of the journal Leukemia and Lymphoma.

Dr. Gergis is specialized in treating a wide spectrum of bone marrow failure syndromes with conventional and novel agents. His focus of interest is applying the new advances in hematopoeitic stem cell transplant to broaden the spectrum of eligible patients for this potentialy curative treatment.

Adrienne A. Phillips, M.D., M.P.H. is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and Assistant Attending Physician at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Phillips cares for patients with all types of hematologic malignancy with a special interest in lymphoma requiring stem cell transplantation, cancer disparities, and outcomes among under-served populations including Caribbean-Americans.
Tsiporah Shore, M.D., FRCPC, FACP

Dr. Shore is the Associate Director of the transplant program at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College.
She is an expert in stem cell/bone marrow transplantation, with over 20 years of experience in this field, and she has major interests in improving the overall safety and effectiveness of transplantation. Dr. Shore is also very experienced in the management of hematological malignancies such as leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, myelodysplasia, as well as aplastic anemia. While Dr. Shore has experience in all facets of hematology and oncology, she is especially interested in advancing the field of bone marrow/stem cell transplantation and malignant hematologic disorders utilizing novel therapies and clinical trials in addition to standard therapies.
Dr. Shore teaches residents and fellows management of patients undergoing transplantation and has published numerous articles in this field. Dr. Shore is also the Chief Compliance Officer in the Department of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and has an interest in ensuring appropriate financial coverage and reimbursement for transplant and oncology care.
Sebastian Mayer, M.D.

Dr. Mayer began his career at Weill Cornell on the leukemia service and shifted his focus to stem cell transplantation. Dr. Mayer’s research focuses on enhancing the effectiveness of transplant regimens, novel methods of decreasing transplant rejection rates, and the diagnosis, prevention and management of graft versus host disease.
Roger Pearse, M.D., Ph.D.
